The Edgecore DCS500 emerges as a versatile and high-performance solution tailored for the rigorous demands of modern data centers, serving as both a Top-of-Rack (TOR) and spine switch. This powerhouse facilitates seamless line-rate L2 and L3 switching across its impressive array of 64 x QSFP28 ports. Each port is capable of supporting 1 x 100 GbE or 1 x 40 GbE, with the added flexibility of breakout cables enabling configurations such as 4 x 25 GbE or 4 x 10 GbE, allowing for a maximum of 128 logical ports. Whether deployed as a TOR switch catering to servers with 10/25 GbE connections and 40/100 GbE uplinks or utilized as a spine switch facilitating 40/100 GbE spine interconnects, the DCS500 ensures optimal performance and scalability. Its open network architecture, coupled with the inclusion of the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), streamlines the installation process of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) software, offering flexibility and compatibility with various environments.

All ports are conveniently located on the front panel, with PSUs and fan modules easily accessible from the rear. Its hardware is designed for seamless maintenance and operation, featuring hot-swappable, load-sharing redundant 850 W PSUs and 3+1 redundant, hot-swappable fan modules.
