Edgecore Networks 32 x 100G QSFP28 Cloud & Data Center ONIE Switch, Broadcom Trident3-X7, Intel® Xenon® D-1518 CPU, 2x AC or 2x -48VDC PSU, F - Front-to-Back or B - Back-to-Front
The Edgecore DCS204 switch stands as a versatile solution designed to meet the rigorous demands of high-performance data centers, serving both as a Top-of-Rack (TOR) or spine switch. Compactly housed within a 1RU form factor, this switch delivers seamless line-rate L2 and L3 switching across its 32 QSFP28 ports. Each QSFP28 port offers flexible configuration options, supporting 1 x 100 GbE or 1 x 40 GbE, or alternatively, 2 x 50 GbE, 4 x 25 GbE, or 4 x 10 GbE through the use of DAC breakout cables. The DCS204 offers exceptional deployment flexibility, capable of functioning as a TOR switch supporting connections ranging from 10/25/50 GbE to servers with 40/50/100 GbE uplinks, or as a spine switch supporting 40/50/100 GbE spine interconnects. This adaptability makes it a versatile solution for various network architectures and scaling requirements. As an open network switch, the DCS204 comes equipped with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), streamlining the installation process of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) software. This includes support for both open-source options and commercial NOS offerings, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility with diverse network environments.
Key features and benefits of the Edgecore DCS204 include its support for hot/cold aisle configurations with front-to-back and back-to-front airflow options, optimizing cooling efficiency. Additionally, all ports are conveniently located on the front panel, while PSUs and fans are accessible from the rear, simplifying maintenance tasks. The switch also features hot-swappable, load-sharing, redundant AC or -48V DC PSUs, as well as 5+1 redundant, hot-swappable fan modules, enhancing reliability and operational continuity. Furthermore, the DCS204 prioritizes energy efficiency, contributing to reduced operational costs and environmental impact. Its hardware switch comes pre-loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), facilitating automated loading of compatible open-source and commercial NOS offerings, ensuring ease of deployment and management.
